Creative Director Valerio Farina
Love as an absolute value. That allows us to live free from all preconception.
Rimini. As a starting point and safe haven.
Places and feelings that intertwine in the SS21 collection, presented by the designer Valerio Farina, who continues his conceptual journey through the maze of the human psyche, this time deepening the theme of love understood as a total and transversal impulse.
Love that shows towards the city of Rimini, the brand’s headquarters from the beginning, which represents more than one place, and becomes an inspiring muse, and ideally embodies motherly love.
City to which it dedicates part of the color palette used – such as sand beige and light blue sea – and which will be the frame of the short film presented at the first CNMI Digital Fashion Week in history.
FORBIDDEN NOT TO LOVE is the name of the collection and we find several prints with this claim in the most casual and technical part. It is no coincidence that the creative director uses two negations in the same sentence to communicate a positive message.
He plays with the positive / negative dichotomy taking inspiration from the current situation full of contrasting and paradoxical situations. It is forbidden not to love which translates into forbidden not to be free, both spiritually – respecting others – and physically.
In fact, the designer stylistically exposes the desire to undress from preconceptions and rules through the creation of garments that stand out for their softness and purity thanks also to the fabrics used – fluid and light – which make up organic garments that tend to enhance the body and its forms giving it new life, as in a sort of resurrection in which the emotions come back overwhelmingly to the world, above all the positive ones that find maximum expression in another of the messages used on some of the garments presented: WE ARE ALL EQUAL.
Other colors used are black and white, a symbol of purity and simplicity combined with asymmetrical cuts, this self-quote, which brings us back to the first NUMERO 00 collections.
